Anthropic launched Claude Opus 4.8 with 1M token context by default on Claude API, Bedrock, and Vertex AI.

Default 1M context moves long-context work into the generally available Opus model, not a separate setup.

It keeps Opus 4.7 tools and platform features, so builders get larger context with the same tool surface.
